Reader's feedback

Hi Fanie, my daughter, Jacomien is 9. Die geheime bestanddeel in Petra Pienk se piesangbrood [The secret ingredient in Petra Pink's banana bread] is the first book she read on her own. She enjoyed it so much, she couldn't put it down and finished reading it in 3 days. Now all she wants to do is read. She already motivated two other girls to also start reading. Please write more books for girls!

I really enjoyed Onderwêreld [Underworld]. It was written for the intelligent young readers of today and is backed up with amazing research! The story line is very strong with a surprise ending. This is the kind of book I enjoy reading.

Hi Fanie,

My grade 1 daughter and I have just finished reading Petra Pienk [The secret ingredient in Petra Pink's banana bread]. We started off reading only 3 chapters each nite but eventually we couldn't wait so we finished the whole book. I am absolutely crazy about your writing style. The children easily identify with your characters.

Geraamte in die klas [Skeleton in the classroom] was SO funny, my brothers and sisters simply had to read it too (and they are 26, 28 and 34 years old respectively).  I will ensure that we buy all books for our library and hope you continue writing for lightyears to come!

With kind regards

Onderwêreld [Underworld] was EXCELLENT! I couldn't put it down. When I reached the end, I hoped there was another 200 pages. Really great. I can't wait for the next release. Thanks a lot.

I started reading your book Onderwêreld [Underworld] yesterday. I couldn't put it down, but simply had to at 1 o'clock in the morning. I skimped on my school work the next day to get back to the story.

I read Onderwêreld [Underworld] this past weekend while at the beach. I actually bought it for my friend's son's 17th birthday but couldn't stop reading. It is a brilliant book, definitely one of my favorites now.
It is very relevant and you again touch on real teenager issues. I liked he different levels on which the title Underworld plays. It would make a great set work book for schools.

Well, on Monday I would have to buy another copy of Onderwêreld [Underworld], because I am keeping this one to myself!

Congratulations on writing another eccelllent book. Please don't stop writing!

I couldn't put the book (Miserella) down once I began reading it. I was a really good book. Will you please start writing Miserella 2 as soon as possible?

Thank you for a good book.

I want to thank you for the letter you sent to my son, Hardus. It has been a long while since I’ve seen his eyes shine like that! When he got in the car that afternoon after having received the letter in school, he said to me: “Mommy, I'm the happiest boy in the whole world.” He gets so dejected because he has trouble reading. Your books spur him on to try again every day. Thank you again.

I just want to let you know that my teenage daughter and I read your book “BreinBliksem” [MindWarp] yesterday.

We got the book from the library just after 1, and I read it in one sitting; thereafter se began reading it. We could not put it down. We enjoyed it so much. She is 16 and it really meant a lot to me for she is going through a difficult stage as teenager. We are looking forward to your next book!

Wow, is all I can say about 'Breinbliksem' [MindWarp]!! It is an absolutely amazing book. Thank you to Fanie and Tafelberg publishers for this excellent piece of work. When I started reading I couldn't stop until I finished it. I reread it again the following day!! I must admit my mind was messed up afterwards. My friends and I regularly attend 'trance/rave parties' and this book is amazingly close to reality. My friends are all 30+ and I have already convinced 4 of them to buy the book. I have bought 3 copies as gifts and thus far everybody was impressed with the book. It is definitely not meant only for a teenaged audience.

Like a good winemaker friend of mine always says: you don't have to be a wine connoisseur to recognise a good wine. Similarly I, not in the least a literature expert, know that this is something amazing. Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing what follows in the future.

Do yourself a favour and read the book BreinBliksem [MindWarp] written by Fanie Viljoen. It is a very deep book and one has to have an imagination to read the book … You can't stop once you’ve started.

I just want to write a short letter to tell you I was mad about the book you wrote. (Spoke en ander gruwelike goed [Ghosts and other ghastly creatures]). This is the first book of yours I’ve read.

I woke on Thursday when my mom entered my room with the book. My dad complains because I watch too much television, and he doesn’t know what to do to get me away from it. My mom got the idea of buying me one of your books. I started reading on Thursday morning, and that very same afternoon, even before she returned home from work, I had finished it.

I really enjoyed the book and I think you are a wonderful writer. The chapter I enjoyed most was Chapter 9 - Miss Pieternella Poggenpoel’s skeleton’s tumble from the closet.

I cracked myself laughing when I read ‘Geraamte in die klas’ [Skeleton in the classroom]! Reading is great fun. I enjoyed it so much that I read the whole book in one day. You also did a great job on the illustrations of Slym 1 & 2 [Slime].
